OPEN FIRE CLAIM WITH LAPSE (Virginia)- Any suggestions for a home carrier that will take an open claim? Was non-renewed May 2025 due to the claim. Repairs are finished and home is now livable with client moving back in next week.

So claim was open, and policy lapsed? Did the client not pay a monthly? Insurance could have paid monies to keep policy in force. Just looking for a deeper explanation since I've never worked the claims side.

If everything is finished and they are moving back in, what is the reason the claim is still open? Could it possibly be closed by the non-renewal date?
