They are factored in to the replacement value of the dwelling and can increase the value a lot! I have one right now that took dwelling value from 650k to 900k. Also, not all carriers will write a home with them so best to check your providers on what to do.
Also not all carriers will pay for the removal and reinstall when the roof has to be replaced. Some carriers are offering that as additional coverage for a cost. It can cost 10-15k for the removal and reinstalling. Also some carriers do not cover solar panels at all period. Check your guidelines.
