Looking for guidance on WC classification/quoting for a contractor in NJ. Client does residential decks and some roofing (subbed out). He has 4 workers currently paid as 1099, but in reality they operate like employees (set schedule, working under his direction, no COIs from them). He needs Workers Comp now in order to secure a big contract. He never had WC before. How would you approach quoting this? Do you rate them as employees?
