Flood insurance rant:
I have noticed a pattern in older homes that have crawlspaces (1920's- 1960's) and the home is in an X zone where an elevation certificate would not be obtained during closing, it is more expensive to list the home as a foundation with a crawlspace than a slab foundation.
Why would a home lifted 12 inches off the ground be issued a higher premium than a home sitting directly on the ground? This is about the 5t
