This is a first for me, I’ve been in the industry for over 25 years handling commercial insurance policies, including garage keepers. Correct me if I’m wrong but if you have a dealership and you hold a vehicle overnight and you don’t try to protect said vehicle in the service bay when you know there are hail storms coming wouldn’t it behoove you as the dealership to go ahead and file the claim under the garage keepers policy and allow the adjuster to decline it or etc. responsibility. You as the dealership can’t accept or decline responsibility just because you don’t want to file it. and yes, this happened to me directly not a client. I’m just getting the runaround and I have never heard of such a thing in all my years. All reactions:

View 1 reply Answer as Justin Lena Chasteen posted to Insurance Soup™ Top contributor Who here is a adjuster that has dealt with glass claims specifically when one windshield repair company breaks a weld and another repair company has to fix it because the first one wont honor warranty. I need to know steps. I cant get geico to corporate with giving me his insurance certificate so i can file a claim on his general liability! My question is how can we get the damages paid for (not filing a claim against my clients policy as the deductible is as much as the windshield ) . This is beyond the scope of work. He caused direct damage to the weld of the car and that has caused water intrusion. All reactions:
