Does it seem a little shady that a city ordinance sets the tow rate at $200? Police will call the tow truck and make it seem like a requirement for the customer to use the tow truck that they called. I found out that the city gets $45 and the tow company gets $155. I referred her to a tow company that was going to charge $100 and could be there within 15 min but the police required her to use the 1st tow truck on the scene.
