The client isn't showing any loyalty. If they'll shop your quote they'll shop your renewal.
See if he has a lawyer in the family. Ask. No, he doesn't? UT OH, they're expensive. Just be sure he has plenty of money to spend on defending himself in a law suit. The other side has lawyers on a contingency. We all know what kind of expenses they rack up.
People have to feel like they've exhausted their options to get the best price. This happens to everyone & it doesn't always happen every year. The fact that the same MGA received a quote from another agent would have me reaching out to the insured to double down on my quote. It shows transparency, how the market works, and what the pricing expectation is for a certain business.
